Suzanne Spitzer
University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science PhD student
Annapolis, MD
I am a PhD student studying citizen science and science communication at the University of Maryland Center for Environmental Science. I believe that scientists have a responsibility to conduct applied research and use science to solve ecological problems, inform management, and engage and empower communities. My long-term goal is to pursue a career in environmental management and science communication, with focuses in citizen science, community engagement, and environmental literacy. I am interested in exploring the interface of cultural anthropology and ecology, as well as engaging in applied transdisciplinary research in order to solve complex problems related to environmental management and ecological restoration.
I am presenting during session E-05. Come listen to my talk! http://sched.co/ARKI
