GBIF.org is the world's largest index of primary biodiversity data. In 2016 we completed a nearly three-year-long community consultation that resulted in our re-licensing more than 600 million species occurrence records under standardized, machine-readable Creative Commons designations. At #myfirstAGU, I'll be presenting the work we've done to automate the tracking and crediting of open data uses through a DOI-based system of citation.
